Located in scenic Lisbon Valley, about 35 miles south of Moab, this defunct copper mine is now producing the finest Azurite (a wonderful deep blue gemstone) anywhere.
When we get out to the mine, we’ll check in with the security guard first. Then you’ll be allowed to start looking for Azurite yourself! Finding specimens on the ground is about as easy as looking down: there’s azurite and malachite absolutely spread everywhere…the owner “cherry picks” for the larger pieces as he mines this beautiful gemstone–YOU get to keep the rest!* And there’s rosettes, geodes, and “Bill’s Little Blue Balls” (azurite in spherical form, found ONLY at Blue Crystal Mine) to be found! As we’re looking for gems, we can take turns visiting the small gift shop where tour participants will receive a 10% discount on purchases over $50.
*some restrictions apply/quantities restricted, hand tools will be supplied.
Our tour includes transportation to the Mine from Moab and back to Moab.
Cost for this four-hour tour is $110 per person, tours are by reservation only. Just contact us!

My family is interested in the Azurite mining tour. We’ll be in Moab area March 25th and 26th. Are either of these dates available for a tour?
Thank you
